1005 Dundas St East

This Oakville project is an 8-storey condominium building nestled beside Oakville’s Uptown Core. The goal is to create an innovative residential complex that promotes the best practices in architecture and urban design.

The building is conceived of as a black form undulating against a neutral white background, capturing the movement of a Chinese Dragon dance.  This strategy mitigates the height of the building to transition down to proposed 3-storey townhouses to the west and north, and created a dynamic facade that is animated for pedestrians and bicycle riders along the new multi-use trail which passes in front of the building.

Four different suite types have been designed with fan-coils and plumbing stacks in the same location for all four, so that a sculptural facade is created by stacking and alternating between these four suites while eliminating all plumbing and fan-coil off-sets.
