Description
This is a new tower that’s being built in the heart of Downtown Toronto, and it’s only steps away from a wealth of local amenities that include shopping, dining, entertainment and more.
The Grand Hotel Redevelopment will be located at 225 Jarvis Street, and it will be developed by Amexon Development. It is in the Garden District, which is one of the most central locations in the city, and also home to one of the GTA’s most well known urban parks.
This hotel is one of the most historic in the city, and it is largely due to its location, but it’s also equipped with world class amenities that make it one of the best places to stay in Toronto.
This development will be located just south of the southeastern corner of Dundas and Jarvis in the heart of downtown, making it close to an abundance of local amenities. Before the existing building on this land was used as the Grand Hotel, it was the local headquarters for the RCMP, making it a historical landmark in the city as well.
The current plans call for a 37 storey tower that will rise out of stepped podium that will range from 2 to 6 storeys. The podium will be built adjacent to the existing 13 storey hotel that’s on the site.
The plans call for a total of 27,850 square feet of indoor amenity space that will be located on the 4th and 6th floors. Outdoor amenity space will be in the form of outdoor terraces on the 5th and 7th floors, and they will total 14,420 square feet.
In addition to this ample amenity space, each unit will also be outfitted with a private balcony, for additional outdoor amenity space.
The new tower will be built on the site of a parking lot. More parking will be supplied in this project in the form of an underground parking facility that’ll have 421 parking spaces.
Location & Neighbourhood
225 Jarvis Street is located in a bustling, vibrant neighbourhood which is in the heart of Downtown Toronto, and one of the most sought after addresses in the city by investors and home buyers alike.
It’s a great place for investors because there are so many local amenities that make living here like a dream. For people who are looking to live in an urban environment with everything at their fingertips, this is the perfect neighbourhood.
It’s named for Allan Gardens, which is a botanical garden in a historic building. People from all over the city come to visit these gardens to get a peek at plants and flowers from all over the world, and it’s a welcome respite during the frigid winter months too.
Allan Gardens also sits on a spacious urban park, which is also an off-leash dog park. This is a popular place to bring your four-legged companion, or even just a book to read.
There’s plenty of transit in the area as well. These condos will have Dundas Street East at their doorstep, and residents can go here to catch a streetcar anytime of day. This is great for local commuting, but it also takes you to Dundas Station, which connects to Line 1 Yonge-University.
