Description
This new condo project is a mixed-use pre-construction condominium development proposed by the Madison Group – who is developing another property adjacent to this site . 50 Eglinton Avenue West Condos is near the Yonge and Eglinton intersection in Toronto.
This midtown condominium will be a mixed-use project featuring two floors of retail and a selection of residential suites, including a larger than typical number of two and three-bedroom layouts. The project will incorporate the façade of the decommissioned hydro vault building, which currently occupies the site, making for a complementary transition of both old and new architecture.
Just steps from the subway station, the development takes advantage of a rapidly growing neighbourhood that has the potential to become one of the densest in Canada. A distinctly urban pocket where shopping, dining and entertainment options are at your fingertips, it’s a place that sees an extremely high demand for modern housing.
Occupying a site at the northwest corner of Eglinton Avenue West and Duplex Avenue, this development calls for a 36-storey building, consisting of a 2-3 storey podium and a tower rising above.
20,000 square feet of retail space is expected to be included within the podium, while 401 residential suites will occupy the tower. Responding to the growing need for two and three-bedroom units, the developers have proposed 92 two-bedroom and 40 three-bedroom suites, along with 269 one-bedroom units.
Many of these will have dens or flex spaces, for units that are functional and adaptable. 112 parking spaces will be included in a four-level underground garage, along with 402 bike spaces.
The building’s fourth floor will feature most of the amenities, including 5,758 square feet of outdoor amenity space, connected to 2,690 square feet of indoor amenity space. Both zones will feature opportunities for lounging, dining and recreation.
In addition, the building will incorporate a 2,000 square foot rooftop patio on the 36th floor, along with 6,458 square feet of indoor amenity space on the third floor. Stay tuned for more details about these amenities, because we predict they’ll be state-of-the-art.
The podium at the building will include the retained brick façade of the current building, while the tower will feature a contemporary look with glazing, making for two visually distinct but complementary massing forms.
