Description
Imagine two sparkling towers flanking a world-class shopping centre, designed with the highest standards of eco-friendly sustainability. Transit, dining, entertainment and community at your doorstep. This project is truly a game-changer.
One the most anticipated mixed-use developments is almost here. Introducing The Remington Centre, by the Remington Group in Markham.
This ambitious development sits at 4390 Steeles Avenue East, just east of Kennedy Road, in the Milliken neighbourhood. Not content to be your average condominium project, this urban, mixed-use rejuvenation includes two condominium towers, townhomes, a shopping centre and an outdoor public plaza; an entire community in itself.
The Remington Centre will consist of dual towers, reaching 25 and 30 storeys respectively, topping a six-storey podium. The residential structure will be connected to the mall by an outdoor breezeway. The proposal calls for 450 units in total with a wide range of floorplans, including luxury penthouse suites with two floors and townhomes with rooftop terraces or street-level walkout patios. All units will have a contemporary design with upscale finishes. With Toronto-based architectural firm Kohn behind the project, a chic, simple and thoroughly modern design is proposed for the towers, creating a coveted focal point for the Markham skyline.
This project will likely transform the already growing neighbourhood of Milliken. At the centre of the development will be an 800,000 square foot shopping centre, with 700 retailers, slated to be the largest shopping complex under construction in the entire province. With designated areas for shopping, dining and entertainment, the complex will also feature a six-acre, leafy public square complete with a water fountain that can be converted into an ice rink in the winter.
One extremely unique feature of this development is an indoor night market that will span 100,000 square feet and remain open until 3 am. Another bonus for this project is that it’s expected to feature Canada’s largest geothermal installation, with heating and cooling through the floors providing 100% of the energy required to regulate temperature throughout the entire complex. This reduces the carbon footprint of the building, making it one of the “greenest” shopping destinations in Canada.
Boasting over 800,000 square feet of upscale, modern design, This new development will likely become the epicentre of entertainment and culture in the Markham community. An oversized, 360-degree stage with wraparound viewing capabilities is the perfect option for concerts, performances and public lectures.
Location & Neighbourhood
The Remington Centre are conveniently located for commuters. The Steeles and Kennedy location gives you easy access to major highways, and has direct access to the Milliken GO train station, which gets you to the heart of downtown Toronto in 30 minutes. Additionally, this Markham condominium development is well served by a network of York Regional transit routes.
Markham is a fast-growing part of the GTA with so much to offer, whether you’re a student, young professional, family or investor. A huge perk for this neighbourhood in particular is its proximity to the GO train station. With the province’s commitment to increasing service to all-day, fifteen-minute intervals, homes in the surrounding areas are expected to significantly increase in value over the next few years, making this a great area to invest in now.
